About Spirit Howler
I have been involved in woodworking since I was five years old and decided that I wanted to build a boat. There was a small stream behind my family home all of eight inches deep during the spring season. The boat was a simple box constructed with nails and scrap wood that had been heavily caulked. It sank on its maiden voyage. But the desire to work in wood was born!
I went on to experiment with a wide variety of woods and tools, exploring the art of joinery. When I was twenty I studied furniture-making. The hope chest below is the first piece of furniture that I designed and built. I went on to study design at
Union College.
I currently make replacement wood trim for homes being remodeled, do outdoor construction and make a wide-variety of items for the home. If you do not see exactly what you are looking for, please feel free to request pricing for a special order. Assistance in designing an item is also available.
